I so wish a company would make a nice set of projectors for our cars that would be a simple bolt in process. I have so little free time these days, that fabbing up a housing is damn near impossible.

I'm really liking the fiberglass shroud your making. If you need any pointers on forming plexi or lexan let me know. Just a FYI, Lexan can be thermoformed but must be cured for a long period of time to get rid of all the moisture, otherwise is bubbles very easily. Plexiglass is much easier to work with.

This might be a really dumb question...and I in no way mean to insult your intellegence... But you do have a DS2 bulb with socket on there during your mock up right???

Thats the problem I ran into. The projector (fx35) fit...but once the bulb and socket was in place, I ran into space issues. But then again, I have a 3rd gen. So Im sure there are differences.

Looks good so far though! You got them mounted. Thats way further than I got. And the fiberglass shell you have going looks good. Will that actually cover teh projectors? Or is that just the shroud to cover the guts? Im having a hard time coming up with an idea for actually protecting the projector. Thought about sealing it up, but I dont know what that will do for the heat. Im also trying ot make it so I can actually take it apart if I need to fix it or tweak it...its a fun balance.

I am using Hella Gen-3 (with RED round connector). Its the only type that worked so far, out of 5 different ones i tried.

whole idea of making shroud is to hide all inside guts and kinda give it unique looks... for protection I am going to put flat round piece of plexiglass in front of the lens.
projectors gonna be up only at night.. so most of the time it will be safe..

about sealing.. you only need to seal the back end of projector where you install IGNITOR from ballast.. that you can do with putting rubber piece around/over it and JB weld the rubber boot onto the projector cowl.. heat could be an issue but if you use just enough jb around it.. it should be ok..

checkout "Blackbirdws6" work on his LT1.. its great.. you might get some ideas from there..

I will post few more pictures of new fiberglass shroud i made.. so fat 3 designs, still not satisfied.. will keep you posted.

Wouldn't there be an easier alternative by placing a universal projector foglight in the lowbeam position? That would be cheaper and should produce more light than the stock low beams.

But it wouldn't be as good as a headlight projector. Fog light projectors don't have as good an output. They don't throw the light as far. You can find sealed headlight projectors too (I have them), but they to aren't as good as OEM HID projecotrs (ex: TSX, FX, S2K, Murano, etc...)
