Polishing Decals
Polishing Decals Tried search, couldn't find anything. You guys that PC polish and detail...what do you do (when polishing/buffing) when you come to decals? I have an '02 SS with the Anniversary stripes. I see all of these amazing before/after pics on here and am thinking of giving it a try, but what do I do when I get to the stripes?

I wax over mine too, but I am wondering what to do with a PC polisher, swirl removers , compounds, etc.

I'd tape them off. If they are on top of the clear coat, you risk scuffing or tearing them. If they're under the clear coat, you should be fine.

I use my buffer right over the factory decals on the hood/trunk of my 30th and the Firebat decals on my car. You shouldn't have any problems buffing right over them unless the decals are cheap and have really poor adhesive.
The recent Tropi-Care detail I did with swirl cutter and polish took out all the fine scratches in the stripe decals.
Just use caution on any sharp edges on the decals and don't leave the buffer in one place too long (just like paint) and they will be fine.
