there are a couple vids online that really tell u what to do . but ya cover ur alt..and u should spray it with a mix of degreeser and water try to stay away from all the wires.. let that soak for a little then with ur hose make sure ur nozel can make somewhat of a mist spray. turn ur car on when u do this but spray ur motor back and fowrth make sure not to stay in one spot.. the reason for ur car being on is so u know if it starts to studer stop sprayin in that spot.. but thats about it.

Woa... I've never turned my car on while spraying the engine bay. I use a leaf blower after I wash the engine and let it sit for a few hours with the hood open to make sure it's plenty dry before I start it up. Stay away from simple green... corrodes the aluminum.

The last time I did mine, I used a heavy degreaser, pressure washer, then blew it dry with an air compressor.

me too. get ahold of an air compressor if you can. If not, canned air or something. also left my hood open for a few hours and I don't start it after water/simple green. hose it down real good then compressed air. Not too sure whats best, but can only vouch for what I do, and it works. good luck.

I just carefully spray it with the pressure washer. Being careful not to soak any areas. I dont cover anything though.

Say if i cover my PCM and coil packs, what about all the fuses? do they need covering to or are they fine? i am contemplating doing this as this would be my first time "washing" the engine bay, i have cleaned it by hand before though

the lsx motors are alot more water proofed then the ltx's. it would be hard to cover a alternator on a t/a or camaro since its at the bottom of the motor on the driver side. the only thing u need to watch for is the pcm. use gunk foamy engine degreaser. start it up and drive it around the block, then dry off the rest of the water. if u want u can spray wd40 on it to make it shine. then it will get dirty quick so u do it once every month or so. oh and dont water it down in one spot. when u see the degreaser wash away ur done with that spot.

So, taking a mental image of this basically i wrap the PCM and the coil packs, spray down the engine (or bad dirty spots) with gunk remover. After i let it set for a few min then spray it down but continusly move the hose around? If this is correct say I. How long should the average one spot be sprayed and is it a garden hose or pressure hose?
