Default Base hood weight vs. WS6

So I'm starting to put the car on a diet and working on some suspension to see how much I can squeeze out of its current power level. Has anyone weighed a stock base model hood vs. a WS6 hood (bolt on, not pin on)? If the savings are decent I may be ordering one from VFN this week. If not, I'll stick with the base hood. Thanks for any info guys.

I dont have a PM from ya man! My PM's have been goofy. Shoot me another! (as far as the tips, they are still on the car, I'll send you one once I get em' off, I haven't had time to make it to the exhaust shop lately. The only one I trust is 2 hours away so you see the issue). Thanks Tainted, that'd be awesome!

Factory steel is in the 50-55lbs range. Factory WS6 is 10lbs less. No idea about the VFN hood.

My suncoast fiberglass hood was light enough to hold up with one hand. I'd guess the VFN is quite a bit lighter than 50lbs.

^ Thats exactly what I needed. I think a 32lb difference is sufficient enough!

My friend was telling me that they make a carbon fiber TA hood. That would be incredibly light.

I went from the stocker to the VFN hood, and I'll tell you what, the difference is great enough for me to notice it.

lol sledding.

I was pissed after the garage got done painting my hood they left my stocker leaning out on the side of the building cuz space was tight in the garage. Then before I could pick it up someone decided it was a good idea to smash their foot dead center on it. Bastards. I'd of loved to experiment with making a shaker hood outa it. O well the suncoast hood is just what I wanted. Slightly more aggressive looking than a regular WS6 and light as hell. To close my hood I cant drop it shut. I have to pull the latch back and physically push the hood shut, its that light haha.

yea, they had it in the shop for a day or two but needed the wall space for stacking boxes so they had to put it outside. Its a pretty small garage but they do good work. The day i get a truck to bring down to pick it up it got smashed though

OMG when i was taking of my regular TA hood it was a huge i mean HUGE differenceb/t the 2. The TA hood was almost hard to carry to the shed lol, but the vfn fiberglass hood i can lift off the car from one side by myself with no problems. Id say it weighs 10lbs maybe somewhere round that.
I can grab it with one hand and hold it out to my side if that says anything .
