Guys thanks for the help/ Rented the Rug Doctor for $35 total and it worked GREAT. Detailed 2 customers cars with it and they were blown away. One was covered in white from road salt. Also while I had it I did 2 house carpets and my TA and the wifeys truck. Not bad for $35 and 1 days work, made $250 from the detail jobs so it was a bargain

Steam Cleaner... My G/F has one (portable), and I use it all the damn time... Once a month or so, and each month, I'm baffled by how much crud still comes out...

Leave em in, just make sure you vacuum as much of the water out as possible and leave the windows down. I wouldn't do it in a place that is still really cold, it will take forever to dry and then you can run into mold/mildew issues.

No need to take out the entire carpet. It will work just fine with it in there. And if the seats are out, bonus. It'll be a piece of cake.

Steam cleaner all the way! My friend owns a detailing business and he has ALWAYS used a steam cleaner on carpets. I think his steam cleaner cost $1500 but its an industrial unit. I'm sure you can get something smaller cheaper or rent one as others have stated.
