When you spray a coat of enamel paint YOU MUST WAIT FOR THE SOLVENTS IN THE PAINT TO EVAPORATE BEFORE BEGINNING TO TOUCH/RECOAT/OR SAND!!!! This means giving the paint a good DAY OR TWO for the solvent to evaporate. If you do not do this properly, every enamel based coat of anything sprayed on top of it will NEVER SET PROPERLY. If you are not sure when it is safe to spray another coat, SMELL the first coat you put on. If you can still smell the harsh solvents in the paint, they are still there!(Imagine that) Give it more time!

If you want your rattle can paint project to mimic spray booth quality, take the time and necessary steps to do it correctly and you will have minimal problems
