Nite_Hawk, the camera is a Nikon D80 dSLR.
f50, the lens is the Nikkor AF-S DX f/3.5-5.8 18-135mm piece with a Quantaray circular polarizer. I used a lens hood, aperture priority (used the highest aperture my focal length allowed, most shots were in the 35-50mm focal length and the 4-4.5 range for f-stop), dropped EV a little to get the exposure I wanted, and shot. Normally I shoot full manual but I tried the aperture priority mode and using the EV to adjust my overall results so I'd focus more on the composition of my shots and I'm very happy with how these came out with the new technique especially considering the conditions I was shooting in.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I just go out there goofing off and trying to improve and I know I picture ***** it up a little but I post up pics when I feel I turned out something halfway nice just to share because I know I love looking at pictures.

Holding the camera steady, making sure you're in focus, using proper settings (I always shoot with the absolute lowest ISO possible, usually 100, rarely if ever move it off of that which helps with color contrast and saturation). The equipment helps a good bit as well as between those two I get almost to what you see here. Then the last little bit is added in with Photoshop (these pictures got +3 to +7 on the contrast depending on the picture which really just helps to super saturate the black areas of the pictures).
