wax or polish by hand?

wax or polish by hand?

is it better to apply wax and polish by hand to avoid light scratches/swirl marks etc.? thanks

An abrasive or cleaner polish will usually be more effective with a machine.

Most prefer to wax/seal by hand. As long as you're using quality applicators, etc., it's really just personal preference.

If using a compound or a polish it works best to use a machine. I personally use a machine for polishing, but prefer to then wax by hand.

i meant using my actual hands as an applicator!

Never heard of that being effective. Porter cable + quality pads + good polish and you're set

For waxing, as stated before, if you're using a quality applicator, it's up to you. However, a few very heavy waxes do need to be applied with a PC such as the heavy duty (forgot the name of it, it's black) wax from Adams.
