Have any 1680x1050 res ones?

I'd also like to see what your raw pictures look like before photoshop.

Thanks guys. I'll try to field some questions and responses...

What kind of camera/software do you use?
I use a Nikon D80 dSLR and post-process in Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Just a lurker. Are you doing anything special? Shutter speed, photoshop, using a tripod?...etc? Those pictures are simply awesome!
I'm doing alot special but most isn't with the camera. I shoot in RAW, then open the files in Adobe Bridge and adjust the exposure/shadows/contrast as needed. Those shots were shot in aperture priority mode with the highest possible aperture (lowest numerical f-stop number). The camera set the shutter speed itself to properly expose the photograph. ISO 100 on all shots, auto white balance (that may or may not be adjusted later on the RAW pictures during post-processing). Those shots were all handheld, no tripod used. I actually rarely use a tripod if I'm shooting in daylight conditions but once it starts to get closer to dusk and dark I always use one.

I bet he could take a picture of a turd and make that **** shine!!!
I think thats the best compliment I've ever gotten! Thanks man.

damn josh you need to teach us all how to get the most out of our photos
At the top of this forum there is a sticky that I wrote about good pictures. It has alot of good info and some helpful tips in there. It'll get you started on right path by supplying you with all the information you need to know to get great pictures. Past that you just have to get out there, try things and practice, and continue to improve.

And I don't know which is sicker, your car or your skills behind that camera.
Thanks man. I guess I'm a pretty humble sort of guy when it comes to this stuff but the car is OK and the pictures are nice but I dont look at either of them as anything too special. Just me doing my thing, having fun, and continually trying to improve both the car and the camera skills.

Have any 1680x1050 res ones?
No higher-res ones. When editing pictures its important to set the image size first because editing a picture in full size then downsizing it degrades the quality. Since I just edited these for web use (and my desktop which I prefer to have a picture this size centered with open space around it) there is no need for an edit that big. Now if I were taking any of these to print I'd be editing the full size images in 3872x2592.

Picture #4
This is actually my favorite shot of the series because of its extra dark look, yet still being able to see the car and the detail. It actually started as slightly overexposed (bright) but I darkened it all down. What you see is what I was going for as the brick building gave me the backdrop I wanted but the color of the brick had a little too much pink in its red that I wasn't feeling with the car after I really looked at the shot.

Thanks man! Much appreciated. Just did a little test picture here with what you told me:

Not a bad start I'd say. Tomorrow is going to be a nice day, can't wait to snap some pictures of the car.

If you are not already, you need to seriously consider doing calendars or posters or something.

Impressive as usual but seriously, dude, you breeze through an LS1 brother's hood and don't give a shout? What's up? Hooter's is right on the 'Pike' - could've grabbed some wings and brews and I could've seen the Goat!
