Default Interior spy pics and poll

Started a new "project" on my '00 red firebird. I have the panels for the power window/lock switches in and one of the center console panels is drying as we speak. Without further delay, here are the pictures....
My materials:

1/2 of center console:

Actually, as long as it doesn't peel / flake off and doesn't fade, I think that looks REALLY good. I take it your getting rid of that run in the last pic?

Keep it all metallic, I think the red (or any color for that matter) looks silly.

Yeah. I actually didn't catch it till I took the pic. Then I went back and checked everything. The paint was still real wet, so I didn't have any problems.

A lot of what you see in the pic is from the flash. It looks a little more subtle in person. It does shine some, but it's not hs girly glittery or anything. I just like the metallic look I guess.

I'm with you on this one.

I'm hoping in person it has somewhat of a 24/7 natural shine because of the metallic paint. Hopefully that's what you were trying to achieve but the picture shows something pretty hideous.

Yeah, the more I look at the pictures, the less they look like the panels. I always have this problem with my camera at night (prob just the flash). My car is stock bright red, and it looks orange with the flash on it at night...

i see like 6 visible runs in the paint. take your time next time and it wont run. do mutiple thin coats and its next to impossible to drip.

I like it, it matches the top of my car and my mirrors. Red in not good though.

I don't think it looks bad at all. I like how you stayed with the darker color scheme...it still blends in with the rest of the interior. Extreme accents on the interior is ricer. TUP to trying something new...and i'm sure you will get flamed by some dudes because "it's different and you're not supposed to do that". lol

Finally put it back in. Inside the cupholder doesn't look 100% great, but oh well. It doesn't look hideous either. I think it looks pretty good, so it was worth it. I wanted something different, and it made me happy working on my car (been really stressed out with school). I decided against the red. I got a pretty good mental picture, and it was pretty bad. Pics later.

the console top and center dash bezel on my Olds came that way from GM, except I have texture. I don't mind it at all.

Personally, I think each of and any combination of the following is gross:

a) interior pieces that have been sanded smooth
b) colorful interior pieces
c) metallic painted interior pieces

To me they stick out and look tacky.

+1 for change it back to stock. Or my advice, sand that metallic paint off, re-texture it, and then paint everything black using SEM Satin Black. All black interior =the ****! SEM texture spray and SEM Color Coat Aerosol is awesome. Check it out. Interior/custom audio places use that stuff to repair OEM interior parts. Grab an airbrush while you're at it too; you can just spray the SEM stuff from the aerosol can into the jar for the airbrush (but warning, you'll have work fast because the SEM stuff is fast setting and will clog your gun and lead to splatter if you take too long.)
