Default Tinting glass/plastic red

How would I go about tinting a clear piece fo glass or plastic red?

Sort of like VHT Nite-shades, but red in color.

Does anyone know?

yeah but i was thinking more of like how glass actually comes in red? like as if it were dipped in red tint as opposed to having the tint applied to the clear glass/plastic.

I am looking into purchasing some altezza chrome lights and tinting the glass red, but I dont want it to be a sheet of tint because that will bubble up over time.

I am shooting for the look of the Jaguar S-Type taillights.

I think it'll look sweet on a red or white car.

Sounds like a good idea. Their is also transparent red paint that you can use, and possibly spray the inside to make it red. This way their's no paint on the outer lens to flake off. Whistler made hihis stock camaro lights all red, but he won't give out how he did it yet.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking of. But I don't know where to get a paint like that. Do you know of any special paint companies or maybe if i can get it form lowes or home depot?

Go to the arts/crafts section of your nearest super walmart. They sell glass stain in red. I've used it on glass and some plastic with good success. I used to use it to change the color of radios to match interiors of various cars.

3 cans of translucent candy apple red for $8
works great on plastic tail lights, with clear over it
ive seen a few pics of cars with the lights painted with this, works pretty good
also seen people use it to paint their keyboard buttons, pretty neat
