im not surprised...

when u replace that rear quarter panel u got remove the sail panel and ****... and its all metal and that is expensive ****... ive seen cars total out just when that panel is hit. plus all the windows were done, the leather seats were all torn, tires slashed. everything on that car needed to be replaced. headlights. taillights probably.

add it all up and i gaurentee ull **** ur pants how much it would be. esp for the 35th specific parts, like OEM hood, spoiler, leather seats, etc

Without a suspect or witness, it's nearly impossible. Too many people watch CSI and think you can just lift fingerprints and push some buttons on a computer and it will tell you who it was. It doesn't work that way.

Luckily he has a suspect, and if it was that kid or someone related to him in some way, he'll probably be caught. Otherwise there's very little chance.

There's a big difference between wrecking your car and someone ******* it up for their amusement.

Yeah, it's just a car. But it's also someone's personal, private property. It's no different than running around his house and busting out all his windows and crap.

The point is it's a shitty, disrespectful thing to do, plain and simple.

It was a 35th with a slashed top, slashed leather seats, slashed tires, busted windows, huge *** dent in the rear quarter, some stuff stolen, and probably something else.

your buddy got dicked from the insurance company. the car in my sig is an 00 ss i bought 1 1/2 years ago from an auction for $5800 and that was because the bid got pushed up by someone that bid the same max price i bid. there was an 00 ws6 with even less damage than my car that sold for $4500 on auction and i only bid $4300 because it was a 6 speed so i lost out. the WS6 had 44k miles.
my SS had 55k. i changed out the pass fender, had the k member pulled up 1" on the pass side, changed the wheels since 1 of the zr1's was broke and the other was bent but drove fine, i took a lead hammer to a couple of bumps that came up from under the floorboard from the car landing on something, new airbags, i left my pass airbag dash cracked(no big deal to me)- i have 2 complete dashes for it but won't bother changing it out, a new windshield because the pass airbag broke it, it it needed a new front bumper and the hood touched up. overall, for me to get the car back up to stock would have been $8500 toatal including all fees, registration, towing, smog, alignment, ect. there are a few minor things also that were time consuming, but i saved a lot of money since the car was worth about 12-14k clean titled back then. but you can see that it would have cost me roughly 2k and 1 month of free time to fix up a totaled car. so with the saved money, i spent it on toys for my camaro.

cars get totaled easily because all you really have to say is that you can't live with knowing that the car was in an accident, and even if it's fix, resale buyers would know by eye or a carfax. i've seen cars with just body damage much less than the red ss in this topic get totaled out. easy stuff like doors and fenders, i don't like quarter or frame but its an easy fix for people who know how to do it.

imy SS is at 82k now and no problems whatsoever. i've done more damage to this car in the last 26k miles than the previous owner in 55k miles. lol.

they're epic miami's. they only look good from a dead frontal view with 18 fronts and 20 rears. i know because i have then in that combo and then just 18's all around combo look like crap.
