I was thinking about doing it to my car as well. I did a little wet sanding on a touchup job I did and it turned out VERY good. From what I was told it can be done to the whole car, it just takes a lot of patience and time. One should probably stay away from any edges to keep from sanding though the clear. You also have to make sure you have the necessary chemicals/tools to bring the finish back when the wet (color) sanding is done.

Orange peel is a standard "feature" on GM's. No extra charge.

I know that you can wet sand it. I've never seen it done, but I've seen finished cars.

Wetsanding can be done to just about any finish, but you have to consider the amount of clearcoat you're sacrificing and understand the possible risks associated.

i paint/wet sand buff cars for a living and a couple things you need to know, paint a couple years or alot of years old is fully capable of being sanded annd buffed and look excellent, but like others have said take it easy as if you sand through the clear its going to look like ****, also when sanding paint that is already cured its going to be alot harder to buff, the more you buff the more clear material your taking off, in my experience your better off holding off on sanding and just buff with some good grit compound on a wool pad, followed by polish also applied with buffer and polish pad, and final handglaze panel by panel wipe off with microfiber towel, your best bet in my expereinces
