Meguiars clay bar review
Meguiars clay bar review I went to the Meguiars detailing 101 class a few months ago and got to try the clay bar there. They say to use their detail spray & not soap/water.
So today I decide to try it out. First did the wife's HOnda hood just to check it out. Took a lot of the **** off the hood.
Time to go on the SS. Washed with the Meg's carwash. Clayed the car one area at a time then used the Meg's cleaner wax. Did the hood first. Took off all the bug & track goo that would not come off by just washing. You can actually feel the paint is smoother. Went on the the rest of the car one area at a time. Did a great job on all the track rubber that also did not come off from just washing.
Color of the car is brighter. Looks great from a few feet away. Closer on it you can still see the small scratches on the car. I bought a porter cable randon orbital buffer & will do that when I get all the meguiars pads, backing plate & buffing compounds. overall I'm pleased with the results of the clay bar. Mirco fiber towels rock too.

I love most of Meguiars stuff but they fell short on the claybar. i've tried 2 of them and they just seem too hard. instead of gliding over the paint smooth it just sticks to it and leaves little bits of clay everywhere. I use alot of other products they make waxes,polishes etc.But the best claybar i've used is the clay magic.

I just finished doing my vette with Meguiars clay bar. Definitely use their detailing spray . I used just car wash and the clay bar did about half what it did on my TA with the detailing spray. Now I get to redo the vette

Ive used this claybar on my car twice with amazing results. Its true that it does stick if you dont use enough detailer spray, which does dry out very quickly, but as long as you keep it wet it has very good results. I also found that if you use the clay bar and then dry the remaining detail spray off with a terry cloth and then quickly use a microfiber towel it leaves a very good finish. After applying wax it makes it almost a mirror finish. Ive never used zaino or anything like that before but it seems like it woudl be just as good.
Use the spray detailer liberally, guys. That stuff is cheap as hell and makes life so much easier. I can clay my car in about 15 minutes now, front to back (not drying afterwards as I just wash it again to make sure everything is gone before I polish).
I used the spray that came with the claybar. I just don't find that it works as well as other claybars out there.There are diff. grades of claybars depending on what you are trying to do . I get lots of overspray from work so i claybar alot and i've tried alot of them out there and the blue clay magic works best for me. I'm not sure what grade it is but they also make a red and a yellow.and anytime you clay you have to wax as the clay removes the wax from your paint.
