New SLP grill install tomorrow. I am going to install my new SLP grill tomorrow and wondered if there was anything that I should expect when I do the job. Tips or tricks is what I am refering to.

Yeah you have to drill holes to use the pine tree fastners to secure the SLP grill. It is a lot easier if you follow the instructions provided by SLP which is to remove the bumper to get the old grill off and install the new SLP grill. It allows for a much cleaner install and is a lot easier to work with the bumper off. I did this and it was pretty simple.

Took me about a couple of hours. If you decide to remove the bumper, it comes off rather easily. Just take your time and do it right. That is my advice. Good luck and post some pics once you get it of. A before and after shot would be good to see the transformation.

I did mine without the bumper off.
The only thing I feel I messed up on, were the 2 most upper outside tabs. Getting the drill I have to angle right just wasnt happening, so the fastener heads arent 100% flush. But its a big 14v drill, so if you're using a smaller cord/cordless or air drill it'll go much easier (well, should).
If not, IMO I'd just hack those 2 heads off, then adhere them to the grille in some way. If that thing comes off with 6 of those fasteners in place, someone's gonna rip your front end off.

This sounds stupid, but take the front bumper cover off. I've done one with it on and one with it off, and it was MUCH easier off. It's easier to get the holes drilled precisely, easier to get the fasteners all the way in, and it gives you an opportunity to clean back there. It also allows removal of the stock grille without ripping it off, even thought that works. Takes about 15 minutes to get it off, maybe an hour or so for the whole thing.
Taking the bumper off to install an SLP grill seems like alot of extra work... Hold the grill in place where you want it and use a black marker to dot the holes on the bumper. When you pull the grill away the black marker will leave the spots that need to be drilled. Much easier if u have two people, one to hold the grill while the other markes the holes. Drill holes a tiny bit smaller then the push pins,and all u do is put the grill back in the opening and push the pins in.. Takes 20 mins

Well, the install got postponed until Friday. I'll report back when it's done. Hopefully my front spoilers and my SLP lid are painted and I can do them at the same time.
