Well whatever it is, I want to put it on a new window. My driver's side has a chip in it right in the middle, so I would like to replace it. I'm the third owner of my car, and from what I can tell from the maintenance schedules in the owner's manual and the kind of modifications that came with the car, I think the original owner who bought my car in 1998 probably did everything thats on my car. The second owner did nothing except let it get dirty and make everything break. Lol. I bet the original owner of my car would know for sure.

Something tells me it was done along with that super custom tribal lookin stuff above the door handle (unless thats a weird reflection). Go to your local sign shop and tell them you want that same thing done in etchmark vinyl. It applies to the inside of the glass, you could tint over it if the windows are tinted.

Maybe it was a dealer, or maybe it was a popular fashion in houston in 1998 or so. There could've been some shop that did it. Who knows. We're working on the dealer info.

The whole issue is confusing the hell outta me ![Icon Confused](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_confused.gif)
I posted this thread almost a year ago, when I first bought my Z. I think it's really interesting how outta nowhere, after so long, dudes are chiming in suddenly noticing that they have the same sorta etching job done! It really does look sharp, and just like the other guys, I'd really like to find out for sure what the history is of this custom etch-work, and exactly what connection it has to the Houston/South Texas area.

Yeah, mine has the same etching "Z28" with the pinstripe. My car was bought in Houston originally. Sadly it was t-boned and it shattered the drivers side glass
. Ive been looking everywhere to find a place that can match the etching. I hate only have the passenger side etched now. Anybody ever find a place to do this?

Thanks a lot 02gtp4now!
So, gentlemen, it would appear that this issue pertains solely to Houston, TX/South TX. Our cars are all pretty much from different dealerships, but all in Houston. Still confused, LOL
