this is a funny thread, hopefully somewhere, someone can shed some light on this. The guy who did all the etching is sitting somewhere in a hole like "haha, they will never find me!" ...I have never seen anything like that before, its interesting nonetheless but with the shitty way our windows work, I would be afraid of it getting all scratched up. I wonder if Steve at specialized stainless could have this done.

Well if in fact it was not a dealer, chances are the etching can be reproduced by the original shop that did it. I'll call the dealership my car came from today and ask if they have any more information about it. I would really want to replace my window and have that etching redone.

Okay, I just got off the phone with the dealership, and after several transfers and confused salesmen, the service department guy said, "Oh yeah, there's a guy who came out here alot to do that kind of work on those vehicles." When I prompted the guy for the name of the etcher, he said he hadn't seen the man in ten years and that not only was there no data for him, but even my car's records had been expunged from their database. Lol. I'll try some other places.

Mine 98 SS had the same "Z/28 SS" etching too. I had never seen another car that had that on it. BTW, mine was purchased new from Hallmark Chevrolet in Houston too.
