I like 'em that way. Not nearly as "in your face" as the LEDs but doesn't clash like the ambers.

Like the blacking em out idea, leave the white white, or maybe black out the white part ? Either way definitely like them, different, but good.

I like the inset, but I would have smoked the stockers I think. Those still look good though. Definitely good call on not going red/amber.

I love those tail lights on the vette. I think its just a little something that differentiates your z06 from the rest.
