I'm curious too. Someone backed into me awhile ago and I have the little waves on top of my rear bumper that I plan to get taking care of soon and thought about doing something like this.

Badass idea, when I was looking for cars I came across a satin black LT1 Camaro with polished Zr1s that just looked insane, I wish I would have had the cash to buy that car, but its alright.

BTW what paint are you planning on using? I was going to spray my truck in a satin blue, but I lost interest and never got around to it but the company is hot rod flatz I believe, they have some really good deals on paint a satin clear. Be sure to post some progress pics, I have always thought a satin black WS6 would look good, but I'm kind of partial to cars that don't look like everyone elses

its satin black, hard top, and has a LS7 in it....no tire shine makes it look more badass. who needs to show when they can go? tire shine would ruin the look of that car

I'm not such a fan of the flat back, it looks alright, but not great.

Satin Black on the other hand, yeah, it makes it twitch. Do it and show us lots of pics.

great idea. I like flat black or "satin black"
Looks different. Also, you dont need tire shine on a satin black car. I cleaned mine, I never slapped tons of wet shine on them unless I was at a carshow.

I like the idea, and all the cars in satin black look bad ***, but it kinda reminds me of all the hondas rolling around with primer. to seem people it will look "unfinished"

You might be talking about me. My daily driver (1994 Z28) is flat black with the CETA wheels on it. And yes if you see pictures of it, it is sprayed with a rattle can. Click on the link in my sig and the pictures are on page four or five. It is getting resprayed satin black with gloss black accents (mirrors,"berger" panel,ZL1 type stripes on the SS hood and spoiler) when I get back from this deployment

Here is a better pic. In person most people like it (even the ones who told me I was crazy when I told them what I was going to do). Like I said before, I love it. Pretty proud of how it turned out too since me and my dad did it. (And before someone asks, no it wasnt rattle canned.)

I think it looks good ! The Z28 emblem needs to be lower and the headlights could use a Whistler mod but it looks really mean !

The headlights are whistler'd. they're just so cloudy you cant tell. I need to get a new set because I've given up on getting these cleaned.

Actually Lambo orange it is. The painter is gonna do ghost flames coming off of the ram air ports. Like he said the flat black would look good, but why not go wild with it. It will probably be a month or two before I get it done but I'll post pics of it when it is done.

Once I get my wheels, konis, and springs a year or so down the road, I'm going to consider this. I think the look makes a car really sinister, and I think it is best served on a Formula.

This isn't making a lot of sense... You said the black was going because you were tired of it attracting accidents and you do the body work so you could do flat cheap:
