Default Turn signal issue...LEDs

Well I guess it was bound to happen that I have had my first issue with my LEDs. I have the switchback LED towers in my front corner lenses. They have been working flawlessly until recently. With the headlights off, these are amber and act as my DRL and turn signals. When the headlights come on, they stay white and will flash from white to amber when using the turn signals.

Now my issue is when I use my turn signal with the lights on, they are solid amber and flash very very slightly (brightness changes just a little bit but I think that is due to the taillights drawing power). My rear lamps flash perfectly (LEDs also) and I checked the flasher unit and no problems there. Only thing that has changed in the car recently was a new racetronic fuel pump and I was swapping the small 194 LEDs with a brighter unit in the front corner housings. I tried swapping the original 194 LEDs back in but nothing changes. Wiring looks good also so I'm kinda stumped. Could it be a grounding issue from the FP install?

bri, i had a problem with one of my swtichbacks as well. the white just stopped working all together.
so i just got rid of them all together, and went with one white and one amber.

to test yours i would take the one from the other side and move it, see if you have the same problem.

It's the same problem on both sides so it's got me thinking its not the LEDs. I would think it rare to have them both have the same issue. They will still go white but just wont flash from amber to white anymore.

When you say you went from one white and one amber, did you install 2 led towers per housing?

Interesting, how did you wire it up? I'm also assuming you drilled an extra hole for the other tower.

Most of those are set to run at 12V's, your car is idling at a constant 13.6. If you installed something else and gave the system a tiny jolt you may have burned them out. Did you take them out and test with with a 12V battery? I would try that, if they work then you can go from there but chaces are that is what happened.

I decided to swap in a regular 3157 and see what happens. The LED works just fine except when the headlights are on and using the turn signal. They just dont flash and only get a little bit dimmer most likely from the tail lamps drawing power. Is there anything else to check (fuses, other wires, etc)? Sockets look in great shape and all the other LEDs work just as they should.
