De-badging Help
De-badging Help Looking to take the Z28 badges off of my car so I can put some 70s Z28 badges instead. Whats the easiest way to take them off? Do they literally just peel off? Is there going to be any left over residue from the badges and how would I get it off? Will there be any shading difference between the color underneath the badges and the rest of the car? Sorry I know this is a lot of questions but I just want to be prepared before I actually do this and not piece meal it together. I would like it to look clean and neat. Thanks.
They will just peel off. Some tape residue will be left and can be removed with goo gone, wd-40 etc. As for the shading you can use some compound to get rid of it. I had a little of the shading when I removed the molding and a little compound with the porter cable to care of it.
Grab and peel... Most will come off with rubbing. WD40 will remove the rest, and there is a chance it could be lighter or darker in the area, depending if the car was painted or fading ect...

That was the first thing I tried. It would never stick though just keep sliding along the side of the car and scratching it to all hell and gone. Now I need a new paint job and I still cant get the damn things off ...
But in all reality just got them off this afternoon. Thanks for everyones help. I went with the fishing line, worked like a charm. Tomorrow the moldings come off and the 1970s Z28 badges go on.
