Back In A F-Body Again...
Ever since I picked up the GTO I quickly realized it was too nice to let the wear and tear of daily driving beat the car down, and since my drive to and from work is only 10 miles each way I dont need all that the GTO is. I still wanted something fun however, and the little 2.0L '95 Dodge Neon just wasn't cutting it anymore so it was time to upgrade a bit. Here is the newest edition to my garage...
1996 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
LE2 2.00/1.60 ported heads, 224/230 114 LSA Comp XE cam, Combination Motorsports 618 dual valvesprings, Comp Pro Magnum 1.6 roller rockers, BBK 58mm throttle body, FLP longtubes, LT1 Edit tuning, C5 Z06 front brake conversion, Bilstein HD shocks with stock springs, UMI torque arm, adjustable panhard bar, and a few other things I'm sure I'm missing, estimated 380-390rwhp
Car put down over 360rwhp with the automatic and an unlocked Vigilante 2800 stall. The car then got a T56 swap with a SLP flywheel and SPEC 2 clutch. No dyno numbers since the T56 swap (making sure the tune is still spot on and getting some dyno numbers will be going down soon). And now to the goods...

Planned mods are clear front side markers, tinted taillights and blacking out the center filler section, low gloss black CETA style rear bumper, and tinting the windows. That should have the appearance mods done aside from me probably putting on a Hooker catback instead of whats on the car as I prefer the dual/dual tips. I'd like to lower the car a bit as well but I honestly dont know that I will. I may do the heater hose mod for the rear springs to see how it looks but the front doesn't really sit too high as is. Getting the back down would help alot.
Also, I've grown accustom to shoulder bolstering in the GTO so I may be looking to get some different seats in the car. The car is also currently a 10 bolt 3.73-geared car but I'm probably going to swap back to a stock 3.42-geared rear when I can find someone to swap with me (the 3.73s feel great but this car will see more highway miles than it does track visits and they howl a little so I'd rather just go with a stock setup to help out on both fronts).
The clutch also only has 300 miles on it so its still got some breaking in to do before it stops chattering.
Past that its a very nice car for being 11 years old. Its been garage kept most of its life and had just a touch over 77,000 miles when I picked it up. I'm pretty excited about it and once I get just a few small things done it'll be everything I want it to be. I could have gotten an LS1 for what I paid for this but it would have had 100,000+ miles easily and I wouldn't have known its history. I know the guy I bought this from and its been garage kept, hasn't been ragged out, and he's done all the mods right. Its not an LS1 car, but its quite a bit more rare seeing as they only built the LT1 WS6 cars for two years and in pretty limited numbers so you dont see the true WS6s all the time (and I like having a a more limited production car like a LT1 WS6 or a 04-06 GTO or something). But anyway, enough rambling, back in a F-Body again.

Nice looking car ! Good job upgrading to the newer console while you were at the swap
Not a fan of the painted interior pieces (the door pieces especially)... The CETA mod is a good idea though
I personally would body color the door handles and locks to make it cleaner looking...
All in all great looking car
Oh, and give us a few "non-artsy" shots so we can have a better overview of the car and it's interior...

Thanks guys. Its been a fun car so far. The LT1 power delivery is totally different than the LS1s. The car feels strong getting around town. That low end LT1 torque is nice and saves me from downshifting as much as I used to in my LS1 Trans Am.
I like the vent rings but I'm still on the fence about the door pieces. They may go back to stock. I'd also like to body color the door handles and get some lock covers in body color too but I dont know if I'll bother with all of that (I probably will knowing me). The CETA mod is a must.
May also be putting some MAD or Arizen seats in it as well. I've grown acustom to the shoulder bolstering in the GTO and the lack of it in the F-Body is driving me nuts. You have those seats dont you? Can you link me to your install thread so I can see how involved it is and any of the hidden costs outside of the seats and brackets (would like to attach them to the factory brackets to use the factory mounting points)?

Clean LT1!! Those wheels look awesome with white.
Not a fan of the painted interior pieces, but if you put those to stock, did the CETA, painted the handles, and got tint, it'd probably be my favorite LT1 on the site! (including mine lol)
Great pics btw! I love the one where the sun is hitting the front rotor at just the right angle to put a like an orangy shine on it
Anyways, GREAT choice!
