Yeah, I just filled in the Corvette lettering with body putty & used a filler primer that was wet sanded smooth before adding the base coat & clear coat. It was all done with regular Duplicolor rattle cans from Autozone. I just made sure that I took mine time & didn't rush anything. Same process for the lid, but that had to have the textured surface sanded smooth before I painted anything. That was probably the most time consuming part.
Here's a couple shots of the covers before they were installed.
I removed my A.I.R. system ahead of time so that I didn't have to modifiy the covers much at all.

Just mock something up with the correct fonts & take it to a good local decal shop & they should be able to make anything you want. The stripes that I used at the bottom of the covers, along with the plaque on the lid came from www.afterthoughtsauto.com so no extra leg work needed there. The 5.7L, I just freehand painted with a paint marker which wasn't too tough.
