Here's link to some pic's of my roof repair. It's been about 4 years since the repair was done, per the TSB, and the bubbles haven't returned.

I wonder why someone hasn't asked Scott Settlemier to help all of us enthusiasts out. He is someone that GM would listen to. If someone sees him at a show, ask him about it, maybe he will help.

Ok, so today i called the customer assistance line with GM 1800 222 1020. They got all of my information and opened up case 71-550-545-941 after I explained the problem. The put me in touch wiht Chad Penton at 1-866-790-5600 ext 11955 and he took the number on the bulliten and the description of the problem. Unbelieveably, he went back to the so called experienced service manager at the dealership and asked them if they had seen the problem before, and of course this guy said no. Chad told me at first that this bulliten must not be a GM bulliten and must just be from a private shop or something of that nature, and GM is not aware of the problem. Looks like gm customer assistance got me nowhere. Case 71-550-545-941 officially closed.
If anyone would like to call Chad tonight or next week, and let him know about your problem as well, that would be nice.
Has anyone ever called this 1800 222 1020 number and actually got their problem fixed? If so, do you still have a case number that we poor fools could use as a reference when we call in?
I need the number to the BBB.

honestly, i doubt he cares. im sure he's got his hands full trying to hype new models and isnt too worried about the paint defects on a few 8 year old cars.

I said over a year ago that we would probably see the same problem on the cars that have had there roof replaced...
A panel bonding adhesive would work fine since it is also used and has been time tested with SMC composit. The problem is it cost $4.00 for a tube of windshield urithane and approx. $38.00 for one tube of panel bonding. It would also take a few tubes of panel bonding where it only takes approx. 1.5 tubes of urithane.
If anyone has there roof replaced I would pay the difference and have them use a panel bonding adhesive like the 3M Automix. This would ensure that you wouldnt have to worry about the problem returning down the road.

The service bulletin shows the exact same procedure and materials that were originally used so its only a matter of time before we start seeing the problem return. Like I said before the only difference in the old and new glue is the windshield urithane used now has the primer mixed with it. The older used a sepperate primer but still the same chemical make up.
I said years ago that unless the sepperate primer its self was the problem then we would see the problem return down the road.
