Default Fancy Head Plate Questions,,,

Do you with those nice cylinder head plates,,,
1. run them all the time, or just in show?
2. use any type of washers, or just bolt it up?

Just got mine today and would like it to last and keep its good looks (its NMB, with a silver bird,,,freakin sweet!)

Thanx everyone!

Mine stays on all the time. Just bolts up with the three screws. I clean it with a damp cloth when I'm wiping down the engine bay.

Mines been on for two years and it hasn't come off since. It stayed on when I drove the car through the winter here in WI and everything and when you wipe it off it still looks as good as the day MBA made it.

If you're concerned about the heat, (Which I wouldn't be FYI, ...), you can simply buy a roll of inexpensive thin gasket material & cut out a pattern. Put it under it & never worry about it again.

I have a DD head plate(Black MBA "LS1") and a Show plate(Colormatched custom CETA with #) I leave the LS1 head plate on for daily driving and then when there is a big show I change it out for the Yellow one.

Like the others said, wipe it down and you're good to go. Although I have gotten a soft bristle toothbrush to mine to more easily clean some gunk out of the machined letter grooves.
