Hood latch mod done: PICS!!!
Here's what I started with:

A little closer up:

Close up of one of the grounds on the radiator support that I moved under the lower airbox:

Shot of both grounds for reference:

Here's the line-lock wire and hood latch cable. My AIR has been gone a LONG time now.

Where I driled the hole from underneath. I drilled a pilot hole, then used a Uni-bit to widen it to 1/2". No grommet yet, but I'll do that soon I suppose.

Finished engine bay. All that's left is get rid of the TCS controller, and move the line lock to a little more hidden location when I do the ABS delete.

Little closer up:

Now I think it looks better under the hood.
I need to get under there one of these weekends and give everything a good cleaning. What do you guys think?

You simply screw them down underneath the plastic with the same screws used to attach the lower airbox assembly. Takes maybe 5 minutes.

You can delete the hardware as well, you just need a throttle cable from a non-TCS car, as well as a cruise cable from a non-TCS car. You may also need to change TB cams. Do a search, there are several useful threads on the subject.

I took it off when I did the AC delete. More air to the underside of the lid. And yes, it is a bottom breather. If you look at the pics, you'll see that I have the bottom of the lower airbox sealed off, so that the only air the car gets is from the airdam.
