actually WD40 can be used to soften leather. I like the Zaino leather products but Mothers, Tropicare and TW platinum are good too.

The absolute best is a product ( believe it or not ) that called "SKUNK OIL" & its made in Germany . Guaranteed to keep your leather seats from EVER cracking or wrinkling , said to double & sometimes triple the life of the leather. Will even make old worn leather look brand new with just 5 applications.
The only problem is the price & its hard to find in the states. It comes in a bottle about the size of Zaino's and has been known to sell for as much as $75.00 a bottle . They say the smell goes away after about 7 days .

x3 for lexol, use the cleaner, then the conditioner. My seat finnaly cracked after 100k when i started getting lazy and stopped conditioning hte leather, than i just bought some aftermarket seats. the lexol leaves a type of gummy film residue. I used to use it before the sun went down, and left it on overnight so that it can dry and harden. then when u sit down in it, it would feel extremely firm yet it wasnt rough.

I used to use that on my leather hunting boots; religiously applied each year before deer season. I got some serious use out of those boots. In fact, 20 years later the uppers of my Sorels are still good, but the bottom leaks at the heal on one.

So, in summary, Mink Oil is an awesome leather protectant. I do not know if it is the best choice for car seats, though.

I just used leatherique...80$ ill-spent if you ask me. Its only been on there for a day, so maybe it's not "cured" or "done it's thang" yet. It was a rediculously tedious process and the cost I just can't put the value in. Like i said, maybe I'm expecting too much with one day of time. OH! the worst-it smells like the elephant exhibit at the zoo =(

My problem was that my ebony seats look almost charcoal and they were obviously dry. They are definately conditioned now, but I just can't get them to be BLACK NORE SHINEY! they just have a semi-gloss look to them, same as the door panels

Skunk Oil and Mink Oil are comparable. I use Mink on my new Leather seats but my finish on mine are exactly factory finish, it a natural finish.

Yeah , mink oil would be my second best choice mainly cause its a little less expensive. But its a lite-weight product compared to the skunk oil which last a lot longer between applications & leaves no residue & depending on the type of leather finish, leaves a great shine that last & last. Its just a much heavier weight oil that doesn't evaporate & leaves the leather looking & feeling like new.Very soft & wrinkle free .That does away with cracks & webbing .

use linseed oil it's stronger than mink oil if you really want it to soak in ive been posting everywhere trying to get people to try it instead of other products it's a lil higher thank mink oil but you'll be very impressed

Lexol cleaner and then follow up with Lexol conditioner. This is the top dawg for leather care.

I use leather care 'Lederpflege' by 1Z Einszett, its specifically made to be used on automotive coated leather.

Its usually available at most auto parts stores.
