CHRIS ARE 360--THESE COMBINATIONS OF MODS DO LOOK GREAT. I HAVE ALL OF THEM EXCEPT FOR THE 38 POUNDS OF BRAKE--I CHOOSE TO GO WITH THE STREET VERSION OF BRAKES WHICH ONLY SAVES ABOUT 18 POUNDS--BUT MORE DOABLE FOR THE STREET. WHAT IS GREAT WITH THE MODS--IS THAT IT LOOKS FACTORY IN MY OPINION AND THE CAR IS STILL INTACT--BUT HEA--THIS IS ME. ANYWAY, GOOD LUCK IN YOUR DECISION--ALREADY MADE MINE AND DID IT. HAPPY MOTORING.

Well a factory SS hood is 51 lbs, a factory Z hood is probably 47-55 lbs.
The VFN bolt'on stuff is all right around 25-27 lbs. I told them when were designing the hoods that we had to get around 25lbs to make it worthwhile for you guys.
The 3" SS hood is a big hit, I'm very proud of that hood.

I got a VFN 4" WS6 hood for my 00 Trans Am WS6 and it fits great, looks mean as F***! It came with all the bolts for the hinges, latch and safety catch. Also, this thing is SO damn light I HIGHLY recommend you get VFNs lighter hood struts or it'll eventually bend and break while trying to close it. The back side of my hood is unfinished raw fiberglass but I plan on smoothing all that out myself. Also I noticed that they flex quite a bit (ie if you put a hand on it and lean on it). That scared the hell outta me So I think I'll add a layer of 'glass to the inside to stiffen it up a lil bit. Im not running it on a track-only car so the weight savings isnt SO important. If you're on the fence about getting a VFN hood, I say get the damn hood! The pin on hood will require rear pins as well as front since it wont bolt down to your hinges. If you're using pins, there's NO need for the hood latch nor safety catch.
