Here you go - engine bay fastener list w/ sizes
I replaced most of the visible fasteners in my 98 Trans Am engine bay with chrome-plated fasteners. Here is the list I created, with my sources and part numbers.
98 Trans Am Engine Bay Fastener List
I cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. For example, I edited my list after installation in a few instances where I thought longer or shorter bolts/screws may be appropriate. Most fastener replacements are same class (grade) or stronger than OEM, but there are a few substitutions of lesser class. I am not responsible for any damage or injury caused by use of the fasteners in my list. Also, I have not included any fasteners I used to plug holes in the wheel wells.
This is not an attempt to undercut any sponsors that provide fastener kits. I hope people find it helpful.

I will tell you the best place to get the stainless button head bolts hands down is Fastenal. Now you will have to polish them yourself, but I got 200 pieces for $25!!!!!!!!!
Just thought that I would pass this info on.
Outstanding list by the way!

Quality grade stainless does not rust my friend. At the most you will have water spots, but again this would be a Do It Yourself approach.
There are sponsors on here that sell Stainless kits already polished that if you would like can be purchased, but you won't come close to the price.

Note that almost all my part numbers are for chrome-plated hardware, not polished stainless.

The Ones that I have seen so far look great, and should not have much of a problem. The only problem will be that Stainless is ONLY GRADE 5 equivalent so they are NOT advised where Grade 8 is required......

okay wasn't sure if polishing them would make the surface weaker? i replaced the ones for my camaro that hold the front clip on so far and bought them from Homedepot. only other ones i need are the fenders, hood bolts and nuts. wonder how much that would cost me since it cost you $25.00 for 200 which is awesome man.... there is two fastenal building around me but i think only one is a store. i will have to check it out and i have a buffer wheel and compound for the job.

Hmmm... Am I missing something? I did a rough total and it looks like you spent more than if you would have just bought the kit for $138:
