i started to think that so i pulled a lil back and cleaned it up still there. plus its on my windshield.

Hey i had that same problem, I was convinced that the glass had been etched by some sort of chemical, so as a last resort I tried some Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover, and steel wool.. Took some scrubbing but it's the only thing that worked. Be prepaired to spend the whole afternoon scrubbing if it is anything like mine was..
