Default dirty windows

i bought my camaro and the windows just looked dirty cleaned then in and out and didnt do anything. i even resorted to using a rim brush with soap and water still nothing. i know its on the outside becouse if you rub one spot with your finger long enough it goes away in that spot but takes way to long. any tips?

A clay bar can also be used on the glass. But if that does not work, go for the #0000 steel wool.

Be careful around the rubber trim as the steel wool will scuff it.

0000 steel wool won't scratch. It's what furniture restoration guys use on wood furniture to restore it.

We're not talking SOS/Brillo pads here.

lol, I used a sos pad and it didn't scratch.... I'd make sure to use 0000 wool if it's on your camaro though

Also, you might try using newspaper instead of a rag/papertowels/microfiber towels on your windows. I have yet to find a better way to clean windows. You can get clean newsprint stock at any Uhaul box store. It's what they sell as "wrapping paper" for moving boxes.

My friend had some weird **** on this vette windshield, hit it with some 3M Perfect-It on an random/orbital and worked. Car came from Florida so there's no telling what the hell it was. Never heard of steel wool though, interesting.

I'll third th newspaper idea, doesn't streak at all. I was having the same problem, and I got some NAPA glass cleaner with ammonia, works really well in taking off the water spots. Also, if you're not doing it, buy a squeegie (is that spelled right?) and use that on the windows instead of the old shamee (I don't think I spelled that right either, but you get the drift).

Edit: I was thinking about putting some Rain-X on the windows as a preventative measure to the hard water sports, I'm sure somebody on here has tried that, and can tell us if this is worth while?
