I would like to know this also. Is there something to condition the leather to prevent them from cracking?

What color leather- almost all the oils or conditioners I would recommend would darken light leathers- if they are dark, not much of a problem-

Mink oil, Neatsfoot oil are both softeners- Lexol is a nice conditioner, almost all wax companies make something for conditioning leather- Zaino, Turtle Wax, Meguires-

The leather has dried out and lost the oils that kept it supple- it will start to crack if you don't replace the oils in one way or another

I picked up some rear seats from a board member that was hard as a rock. I bought some of those lexol wipes and just kept on rubbing it in over and over untill I had gone through the entire bottle.

They became pretty pliable. Not soft, but only slightly stiffer than factory and they honestly started off so hard I was afraid by touching them they would break...

Meguiar's leather care liquid in the bottle is really nice stuff. You may need to apply it a few times but you should be impressed with the result. Leaves a fine feel to the seats afterwards too.

well i just bought a 95 mercury sable Limited Touring Sedan (ya iv never heard of it either apparently on the taurus/sable boards im the only owner of one on the net)

anyways it has leather and the guy gave me some Meguire wipes with the car in the center console iv been using 1-2 wipes a seat every day since i got it.. will do until the thing runs out i notice them getting a little better mind you they arn't bad as my firebirds but some of it was alittle dry

honestly I wish there was a site that proved the best one whatever works the best ill order like 5-10 packs of the stuff (wipes or gallons of the cleaner) and ill do my DD and my firebird at the same time, taking a hour out of my day to restore the seats
