The 4 button controls on the left side of the wheel operate the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT on the HU's remote, which allows me to use left/right to go between folders and then up/down to select which tracks to listen too. Does that make sense? Probably easier to see than to read, but it works perfect. The rigth side is volume up/down, pause/play and the 'setup' menu to adjust the sub, balance and all that jazz.

Another reason I kept my same headunit, it operates just like i want so hate to rock the boat with a new one.

Many thanks!

On another note, since I've LED'd every other light on the car and has been for a couple of years now, my next mod will be LED taillights....finally. I have a cracked taillight on the way now so I can start cutting my boards and seeing how many will fit.

How do you access the dvd/cd slot? Looks as if you would have to pop the bezel off?

The HU is mounted under my driver's seat. I wanted easy access to the slot....and there's really no other place i could put it anyways.

Looks good but i have to ask..... This isnt a GPS nor a touchscreen? The main reason i want one is for GPS and i guess it wouldnt really work here. Or does someone make a touch screen monitor in the same dimensions? What are the dimensions on the monitor?

very sweet install. A buddy of mine did up a sweet setup with an actual pc made for a car. He purchased a touchscreen monitor only and it hooks up to the pc which he put in the trunk. It had a very nice size harddrive, had available wireless connectivity and the ability for a gps if he wanted to get that going. Pretty cool. This was on a porsche boxter S and the only problem he had to deal with was the hibernate mode for the pc would kill the battery. He has since rectified that problem.

No, this is only a monitor. My HU is under my seat and it's only a DVD/MPG/CD player. For GPS you'd have to get a double DIN headunit or a flipout. A touchscreen monitor wouldn't be any different than what I have no, most HUs, if not all don't have a touchscreen output for aux. monitors. A touchscreen would be pointless for my setup as I control everything I need to from the steering wheel and don't have to stretch my arm out to do it... lol, I'm lazy. No clue on the dimensions of the screen, it just fits. I'm sure Pyle has it listed on their site.

BlackBird, that's exactly my plans in the next year....carputer. I've never really thought it was a good idea until I checked out the mp3car.com forums and actually saw the programs they use to control everything. It's freakin' awesome and when I build a new computer I can just use my old computer parts except for a DC-to-DC regulator and solid state hard drive. A guy at my offfice just installed a 8" TS transreflective screen, computer, GPS with StreetDeck software and after seeing a carputer in person, it's something I gotta do now. Actually it was the reason to attempt my own bezel, just some practice for the 7" TS that'll come with the whole setup. Plus it's way cleaner looking to have a non-flipout in the car too.....and I have my middle air vent back!

Wow man, that looks incredible. Great work.

But next time, don't take a picture of yourself listening to that pop country CD.
