Default MBA shifter adapter question

I got mine on, with the Hurst handle but it is pretty loose on the shaft. I tightened it down quite a bit but it still rattles alot. Any ideas on how to fix this?

mine came w/spacer dots that are supposed to stop the loose condition. I have yet to install mine though.

If by "loose on the shaft" you mean the adapter to the stock shifter, you can't fix it.

The flex you see is from the white plastic piece turning.
I've tried a few ways to make it stop.
The only way that is plausible is to tap a larger hole into the adapter and put a larger set screw in.

couldnt you drill and tap 2 more holes, and put 2 more allen screws in there that I think would fix the wiggling????

The set screws in the adapter snug up to the plastic lock out shaft, which is loose inside the actual shifter shaft. So snugging the adapter to the shifter shaft itself would't allow the handle to slide up and down.

Here's a pic of the plastic piece that the adapter screws to, and a quick vid of the rattle.

Plan A didn't work. It would be less noticeable with an MBA ****, but I'll figure something out. And drilling out the holes and using bigger set screws seems like a hassle at this point, but would be a last resort, for me at least. I just like the t-handle look.

I take it your **** does not feel loose when you try to twist it? Even if the t-handle had a tail it wouldn't keep the plastic piece from moving. I may end up with an MBA ****, but I think it only looks good with the boot mod. I don't plan on doing that one for a while as the car is going into storage in a month or so.

Exactly. That's the reason I'm leaving mine how it is, for now.

Does the MBA **** slide down over the shifter shaft and thus takes some of the slop out?
