Default i went Meguiars now

well i switched polished/soap/wax today.

i got their car wash soap, NTX wax, and deep crystal polish. i want to get the COLOR wax/polish, but i dont know if i need it.

im hoping NTX will get rid of the swirl marks and light scratches.

anything else im missing?

If your doing it by had use meaguairs micro fiber towels. That will cut down on making new swirls. And also use a MF towel with there quick detailer.

if it is the cheap blue and white ones .. they aren't very good..

the NXT will hide some very minor swirling.. to remove swirls by hand I would recommend using Tropi-care TC-8.

Meg's #2 also works ok by hand, but it has a lot of filler in it ..

#80 and #83 are machine only ..

on their website it doesnt show the numbers youre talking about so i dont know which ones you are refering to.

the mfs are yellow and a light green

so would i be ok doing this: NXT wash soap washing the car, deep crystal polish, then the NXT wax.

yes .. I would add the claying step into your process ..

so
wash
clay
DC #1
DC #2 (if you want)
NXT
Meg's #26 or Mother's Pure Carnuaba. (not the cleaner wax)

all of that stuff is available at any parts store .. and is decent stuff for working by hand.

you will need to either find a supplier close to you, or order online or via phone to step up to higher quality products. but unless you are going to get obsessive .. the products listed above will work fine for you for maintainence.

and get some better quality MF towels .. go to pep boys or o' Reillys and pick up some MEg's Supreme shine MF towels .. or even better .. give Steve a call at Tropi-care and get some good towels from him .. I believe they have free shipping on some of the MF towels

I agree with everything you said.

To the topic starter, since my car is a similar color, I would go SC#1, DC#2 (apply thin, to the point you can hardly see it on the paint), and then #26. DC#2 followed with #26 gives an awesome shine on dark colors.

Did you check out the link that I posted? There is a link to #26, and explains it.

Yes, what you have will work wonderful. Just apply the Deep Crystal Polish really thin to the point you can hardly see it on the paint when you apply it. It will make removing a lot easier.

Correct. Apply DC#1, and remove it. With DC#2, it's a pure polish so you don't need to wait for it to dry. The trick is to apply it to one panel and then remove it with a microfiber. Then go to the next panel. Repeat till the whole car is done. After you do this, apply NXT to the whole car, let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes (depends how cold and humid it is where you live) and then remove.

Ok. So wash the car and dry it. Then apply DC#2 to one panel at a time and remove it. Then go to the next panel. Once you do the whole car, apply NXT to the whole car and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wipe off.

#21 is great. It's more durable than NXT. When the time comes to use #21, you would use it in place of NXT. So wash, DC#2, then #21.
