Gauge Cluster Conversion 93 to 97+ I have a 93Z that im swapping the interior from a 97camaro. the 97 is a 6cyl so i need to buy a new gauge cluster.. Ive never done the swap before so what all will I need?? will a 97z gauge cluster work the best/easier to install?

Just get a 93 trans am cluster and get a nice set of silver or white gauge overlays, and a T/A bezel and your all set! The T/A clusters visually look the same for all years up until 97 when they switched to a digital odometer.
I'm sure there is some way to swap to the newer versions, but ultimately this is your easiest bet.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, all T/A gauges from 93 up will fit into the 97+ Camaro dash pad.

I dont know about your camaro, but i put a 2002 formula cluster in my 94 firebird v-6 and it popped right in and worked from day one. Perfectly. NO MODIFICATIONS at all ever. Even the digital odometer worked so i say try just putting it in there before investing unnecessary money. I was told that i would have to buy all kinds of crap like a new harness and sending units etc but when you think about it, it would make more sense for gm to just design a new cluster around the current car rather than all that other stuff too cause we all know how cheap they are. I always thought maybe my car was just some factory freak but how could it be? Its not possible. And if it doesnt just pop in and work then you can do all that other stuff people recommend. But id ask them if theyve done it cause a lot of people just echo what theyve heard as to where ive actually done it. And i also put one im my cousins 96 trans am with no mods but that is a later year.

But 99 and up trans am/firebird clusters have a dummy temperature gauge that doesn't show actual temperature other that an overheat condition. I know they plug righ in the older harness, but how accurate do the read from the old sending units such as those on a 1993? or a v6?
