Default Waxes: Liquid vs. paste

Used zaino and I loved the shine but it's just too much of a pita to get on short notice. I don't mind waxing my car often (it helps me relax actually) so I've switched to mcguire's gold class lately. Love the shine, it's just obviously a little less durable. My question however, is which is better on a black car...paste or liquid wax and why do you prefer one over the other?

Thanks!

Just go back to zaino, 1 coat of zaino will last a while, so you have plenty of time to order...

My car has seen nothing but zaino...

I enjoy the time I spend working on modding and waxing my car though and zaino wouldn't be cost effective for the amount I like to polish

I like liquid. IMO paste is harder to put on. I too use Gold Class since I don't have extra cash for Zaino. I'm pretty satisfied with the results though.

Stick with the Zaino. Most folks when they send in an order get extra supplies and since you pay shipping for each order, minimize the number of orders by getting extra supplies, then you never run out.

I also am on a severe budget. I use McGuires gold class as well.
Looks good for a little while after you wax it, but it does fade.

I prefer Liquid waxes. Less buffing means less chance of ruining your paint. I put a quick coat of Meguires Gold Class on every two weeks from May through November, and I'm in Chicago. The shine never goes away, and I do think I have a pretty thick coat on it by now. If you enjoy waxing, I think that's the way to go. Just my .02

I prefer liquid wax products, and just switched from Zaino to 3M products, and i'm pretty darn happy with it. (Uh oh, here come all the flames)

3m is much easier for me to get my hands on, and I love the way it looks after I'm done. I polish and wax my car pretty often too, so even though I'm sure that Zaino may last a little longer, it doesn't matter to me since I re wax every 3 weeks anyway. (and before every car show)

I have a black z too... but haven't been able to get my hands on Zaino yet... just out of curiosity, how good do you rate the 3m products? How easy is it to use or do you pretty much need a machine polisher?

You don't need a machine polisher for 3M. I use the swirl remover, hand glaze, and liquid wax and do it all by hand. The swirl remover kicks a$$. Best product I've ever used.

Does anyone have an opinion on how the 3M swirl remover compares to Meguiars Scratch-X?

Dunno how it compares, but that Meguiars stuff is pretty nice! We use the car wash, and wax/polishs @ home, and they work pretty nice. Wouldnt mind getting my hands on some Zaino to try it out tho...

Does anyone have a first hand experience of how the 3m compares to Zaino? 3m is a lot easier for me to get here... but on the other hand, I have barely heard anything about how good their products are compared to the number of people that rave about Zaino.

pimpmaro-
I switched from Zaino to 3M. that's about as first hand as you can get. Don't get me wrong, I think Zaino is a great product, however, I can drive down the street and get 3M products. So far, I love the shine(just as good as the Zaino in my opinion) and am very happy with their products.

I've used both the Meguires Scratch X, and the 3M Swirl Remover. I was much happier with the 3M product, but Meguires wasn't too bad.
