Can I ask what's with painting the outer lip of the hub black? Just for a cleaner look since you cover up the rest of the rust with the wheel or what? Looks good I guess, not used to seeing that. I had every intention of doing this, but now I'm not so sure. I think I want to go with silver if I do it though.

I had mine powder coated... I've painted mine a few times and over time they tend to chip and I just think the powder coating looked "cleaner" and it's more durable

Here's a before and after for the caliper. You can see the old bracket and how it's chipped over time

Im about to have all my calipers and brackets powdercoated! I believe it is easyer in the long run to just do the job right the first time, not that painting isnt! but powdercoating is damn near indestructiable, and a lot easier to clean! As said above paint chips over time. When I get my calipers back from being coated they are gonna be rebuilt and stainless lines are goin on, I also ordered baer eradispeed rotors with hawk hps pads! To some its a little over kill but its done right and Ive gained a lot more stopping power!! Nice cailpers 01 red ws6!!!

yes you have to rebuild the calipers but it's very simple. It didn't take me anytime to get them put together. I probably spent an hour to rebuild all 4 and that's with taking a break and goofing off

Will brake fluid eat power coating? I just painted mine SOM and they are very easy to chip so be careful with paint.

I spent about $75 for the rebuild kits for all 4 calipers.. The powder coating will very depending upon where you go and the amount of work they have to do to prep the calipers for coating... I have a friend that does coating and he does all of my stuff so I get a little bit of a break

I'm sure it will but it would really have to sit on the coating for a while. From what I've seen on mine I had some brake fluid on them and it didn't hurt them. I
