I just broke my ashtray lid/cover and went through the same thing you are doing now. I went to the stealership and they said they would only sell me the top half of my center console for I think they said for about 140 bucks. So, I came on here and found not much at all. I then did a google search and found Hawk's third generation carries this part in stock. It cost me 18 bucks and got it in 2 days. I have not had time to put it on. However, it came in new, nicely packaged in the original "Genuine GM" plastic bag containing Part Number 10408634.....and no it did not come with the spring thing. I just hope I can find mine laying untouched somewhere up under the console.
In addition, I have the custom nitrous switch hidden up under the ashtray cover. It looks nice and stock-ish.....however, you still need the ashtray cover.
