I think I would probably do a 5000k if I had it to do again. That would be a good compromise between best light output and the blu-ish white light that I like from the 6000k that I currently have on the car.

I like 5000K because its alot of light output and the color is the same color alot of Cadillac and GM cars use for factory HID's.

5000k

i have 10k on my firebird and my silverado but the ones in my silverado look like italicisedspoge's car, but the ones in the bird are more of a purple look which is what i was going for. dont get me wrong i love both but the color rating tends to be affected by the housings and the company you get them from. mine came from a non sponser, i asked them what might cause it and they told me power output

Wait clarify that for me.... they told you your color is different because of your power output?? No soliciting intended here but I sell the HIDs on the GTO forum and this is a simple answer if your color varies from car to car its because of how its being projected, for ex: a 10k on a GTO will be alot different on a firebird simply because we have projector lenses, an S2k has projectors as well but Honda designed them to produce more of a purple light, so a 10k in those looks VERY purple. All cars put out a 12 volt source it has nothing to do wtih anything else except how your manufacturer put together those lights.

Here is mine w/ 6000K HID. The only thing that I don't like about this 9006 HIDs are the SCATTERED LIGHTS other than that, its awesome. I don't even use my HIGH beams anymore.
Lights off

Lights on

Let there be LIGHT!

8k for both my fogs and lowbeams.. reason why i chose 8k is that first off it looks great. anything higher would look too rice with the purple hue.. anything lower would look to ordinary on the night streets ie brighter silverstars.. so with that 8k has the tiniest hue of blue to set it apart so everyone knows you have hids.. which is the point right? just my 2 cents

I can see that 10K just blinding the hell out of you on the road. That's when it's good to have a truck and just have those puppies shine in the back window. I'd go with the 4k to 6k also.
