i guess i need to take it all apart again and actually put some effort forth to see why it wont sit as flush. it sits even and flat though, just not flush. did you take out the 'tray' the stock HU sits on?

I think I got lucky with the depth of the unit I have. It's actually really not long at all. Luckily, because it's a double din, I didn't have to deal with alot of length, due to the added height.
Basically, when I shoved the cd player in, it did all of the necessary bending to the air vent.
