Default Carbon Fiber and Interior

Anyone know who makes a better Carbon Fiber kit than RK Sport? I've seen their's and wasn't all that impressed. Also, anyone know where to find a dash kit to rearrange the a/c and overall look of the dash? Or would it be better to go local on that one? Any help you guys can give me would be great.

Send your stuff to exoticwooddash.com.. They have a few different colors, and a 10 day turnaround!

this website, techthority.com for porsches has got to be the most flawless carbon fiber I've ever seen..... it's worth someone giving them a call to see if they'll cover the trim pieces from a Camaro or Trans-Am. I think it would be worth finding out for us that want carbon fiber interiors....

RK sport is now making the molded carbon fiber kit again. I assume it is very similar to the one you have from them.

They wanted over $3K to do the pieces in Steve's car when I asked them.

Why don't they make the molded kit for the Firebird? I'd be tickled to death with the kit Steve has if it was for the Firebird.

ssg-z28, is exotic wood dash giving you "real" carbon fiber in red, or just the carbon look? just curious. I've seen some "coated" pieces by them and it looked really good, but I don't think it was real carbon. Just wondering..... I found a website that does real carbon fiber overlay:

https://secure.gnetworks.com/store/g...p;product=3879

also, please tell me how much exotic wood dash is gonna charge you, if you don't mind me asking.....

Posers.. lol.. they wanted $3k for a kit and mine cost $700 from RK.. the new RK kit sounds nice but I havent seen it yet.. they need to make a firebird kit

Some info on the RK Sport kit...

Steve, when you ordered your kit, were they actually replacement parts? Or was it how this guy describes it?

It is real carbon fiber, and I will let you know how much they quote me. I'm getting alot of stuff done.. It's like $.95 for 1 square inch.

Ive seen what Todd had done there (and others) and its the same as what I have in my engine bay.. Not real cf but it looks VERY good. If it was real CF then they would have to cut pieces of CF to shape then epoxy it to the parts. The stuff they use is like a film transfer, hard to explain.

I would say 95% of the people that see my engine parts belive it to be real CF.. so isnt that it looks good whats important? Not like your saving weight or making the part stronger.

I also have the RKsport kit comming in as well.......I went with the Fiberglast kit at first, but I can tell you from experience that although carbon fiber is easy to cut and lay, it is quite messy....imagine about 9oz of syurp that you have to spread over pieces, thats what the epoxy is like.....and all I did was the door sills and fuse covers, flat surfaces, I don't see how they do compound curves unless they have a mold....turned out okay, but not perfect like we all want....I'll post pics when I get the kit and some of the "homemade" stuff too.....
