Pictures of how you fabricated them on would be nice, as well as maybe some night pics from the driver seat to see some kind of a beam pattern. Did you use the driving lights or the fog lights or a mixture of the two? Where did you get them and how much did you pay?

To VIP1, I'm in stock housings currently. I suppose I could still do the HID conversion to the stock housings, but with the beam pattern they give off, I'd surely be blinding everyone else, and probably not helping myself a whole lot.

You can modify the stock housings to hold a brighter bulb:

I'd recommend a Sylvania XtraVision, GE NightHawk, or Phillips VisionPlus instead of the Sylvania SilverStar. I don't know how the SilverStar Ultra compares though.

Pictures i can take, i cannot take pictures of the light pattern cause my whole front end is off the car! Maybe you can send me an email adress so i can mail you some pictures, sorry i don't have them online! I'm not sure if you would be happy, i like them they certainly look better then stock even the lighting is better but i'm not all that satisfied. I used the driving/fog combo and i got them at advanced autoparts, don't remember how much!

So you used the Fog lights for the low beams and driving lights for the high beams? Does the pattern of the fog light have a pretty decent cutoff and such?

TheGr8Schlotzky@msn.com is my email address, thanks

to VIP1, like I was saying, I've already done the sealed beam conversion, but now that I think of it, it wasn't silverstars that I used, but I can't say I remember exactly what bulbs I used. They are certainly whiter, and brighter than stock.

Check out this WebShots Gallery I found:
http://rides.webshots.com/album/62268907BniHSN

Unfortunately, it doesn't say if those are the fog or driving version. Based on the amount of light going upward, I'd guess driving.

I found a write-up:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/268472/4
You don't need the relay harness though since the stock bulbs and the bulbs in the FF75 are both rated at 55W.

Doesn't look like anything has come out of it yet although I didn't read all the pages (there are 42 pages). I read the first few and last few.

At this point it's down to the beam pattern to make up my mind. If there isn't a decent cutoff or anything, I will probably just go for an HID conversion in my stock housings.

What was this talk about fabbing a projector into my housings? If this has been done, I'm interested to see what's involved and how doable it is.

Again, thanks for all the help!

Putting HID in moded-stock housings or aftermarket reflector housings will probably produce a worse beam pattern.

I have not seen it done. Its an idea I had. You'd need aftermarket reflector housings with clear front class, then cut the back to mount projectors.

Kinda like this, but for an LT1:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/260826-hid-retrofit.html
http://community.webshots.com/album/116863233uyEamc
I don't know if there is enough room though (probably not unfortunately).

Yeah, I realize that, but I meant if the FF75s don't have a decent cutoff, I will probably just stick the HIDs in the stock housings, because it probably would be a very big difference.

I suppose I could just do a Hella 90mm projector conversion and either drill out the stock glass and have it kinda sit in there and sort of still have the rectangular look...Or I could just put my headlight covers back on and keep them on..

Unfortunately, the front glass of the stock housings is rippled which will alter the beam pattern of the Hella 90mm projector.

That is why I recommended aftermarket housings with clear front glass, but that adds to the cost.

Thumbs up

right, but i meant drilling out the center of the glass to have the projector come out of the stock housing but that might look funky...

Vicious95Z28, I removed the link because a cyber-squatter took it over.

Is this the site you meant?

(the BellSouth email address tipped me off)
That link is listed in the Lighting FAQ.
