Hella FF75 Conversion anyone?
The plan is to get the new lights in, and get a cheaper HID kit on ebay to get the full effect, but there is a good $150 to be saved by just getting an HID kit and adapting it to my stock housing instead, But I would imagine the Hellas would yeild better results as far as lighting..and look better anyway.
So my question is, which do you think I should do? Hella+HID or just HID? Are there any writeups on the FF75 conversion?
TIA
My camaro is a 96. The Hella FF75s look like this:

These are to replace the quad beam headlights on the early 4th gen Camaros. I found plenty of threads on the circular projector lamps, but i'm not a fan of the styling.

You could also modify the existing sealed beam housings to hold brighter new-style bulbs:

But the question remains..are there any writeups on the Hella FF75 conversion? Or at least some tips from those who have already done the conversion?

I'm still not sure on the fog and driving beam patterns for use as headlights since neither is quite right, but it appears that fog for low beam and driving for high beam would be a good compromise.
I could be wrong though.
Maybe someone who's done this can chime in.

Regardless, thank you very much for all your help! I've never thought a foglight pattern would be appropriate for a headlight, but considering the beam pattern by definition, it might make for a good low beam.
Good Luck.

This Hella conversion is maybe 50/50 appearance/visibility. But when it really comes down to it, I think I might be better off putting this money into the heads I'm currently rebuilding/improving for the engine. I suppose I could do a 80W/100W halogen conversion in the lights, which would surely be cheaper, and have some money left over for other mods.
If I were to go with a higher wattage set of bulbs, is there a certain brand you would recommend? I've heard some good things about Nokya Stage II lights. I assume I would need some kind of an inline relay as was stated in one of your previous posts?
BTW, SilverStar bulbs are not actually brighter, they are just whiter.
