Question Those with car covers come in...

For those of you who store your car, what cover do you use? I have a generic cloth like one the guy gave me when I bought it, but it doesnt fit that well and doesnt come down far enough. I want something that fits much better for now I have a garage to put it in, but would like an all weather one in case it isnt available in the future. Thanks guys and pictures are more than welcome!

yes they can trap moisture. If your car is going to be covered outside make sure you get a good quality one that has a good breathablity rating, if it's stored in a garage out of the weather breathablity rating isn't really important.

As long as you use a quality car cover, you wont have to worry about moisture. The last thing you want to use to cover up your car is plastic. It doesn’t breath, and it traps in moisture. When I bought my SS it came with the SLP cover. I wasn’t impressed with the quality, it felt like nylon(something a tent would be made out of), and as a $160 option, I don’t think it was worth it. I store my car in the garage from Nov. till April and this year I bought a California Car Cover. It was $200, but well worth the money. It took them about 2 weeks to make it and it weighs at least 3 or 4 times as much as the SLP cover. The stitching lines up with all of the bodylines on the car. The cover is comprised of 4 layers and the layer that touches the paint has a flannel like feel to it, very soft. Its expensive, but since I use it almost 5-6 months out of the year, it was worth getting a quality cover.

What about one made out of Spun-bounded Polypropylene?? It says its 100% breathable and water repelent? Also has a 2 year warranty and if your not happy, they will buy it back. I bought one to try out this winter.

On the SLP covers are thick enough to absorb an accidental hit from a 5 year-old?

stick with Wolfe or California covers, you pay a little more but they offer the best protection for cheap Ford and GM paint.

For the most part, unless you hit the car hard enough to crack the fiber glass or plastic body panels.. The hood and rear 1/4's would dent if hit hard enough also...

I see that the california car cover Noah Series seems to be a really good one for outdoor use? Anyone else here recomend a specific brand for outdoor use? Something that is waterproof and offcourse holds no moisture.
