Yeah, I was mainly writing about close to stock motors, and speeds that people would actually go. You'd have to be retarded to go that fast on a public road.....

That's what I thought as well. I might have to do this over the winter since a set of nice overlays are about $100 anyways lol.

Look in the LT1 section. There is a post about some magazine testing the top speed on a stock LT1 and supposively they got to 178 and thats just as close to 155 as 200

they do make them for the Lt's. and its no problem to hit 180 with a heads and cam, nitrous, or any power adder for that matter. i know most people on this site have that so i think our cars or worthy of something over 155; even if your car gets 160 its still more than 155 so y wouldn't you want to be able to read it correctly and not try to guess what your doing. i would never hit that on a road that there is traffic on but on long stretch of road with no cars on it or a 3 lane highway with minimal traffic than def. i have hit 155+ many of times on open roads

no, i mean the fastest I have been is around 144mph, and its just kinda pointless to go any faster, i am not trying to debate this, just stating point of view....I would still buy one of those if I did not already have my Macewen overlays....200 is NOT a realistic speed is all i was trying to get at....

i ownestly dont care that it says 200 just as long as i can read my speed above 155. i was pretty stupid of GM to stick a 155 in a car that can do over that stock

I had one of the very first 200 mph clusters from granatelli motorsports and it worked GREAT! I had my ws6 well past 165 Muhahahaha! I was told the speedo was reading 185 but i wasnt really even paying attention cause at that speed you really need to watch the road .. so i didnt even care. I think i might have some footage where was pegged on the stock speedo though.

I am curious about something, do the gauges still have the red glow or can you put colored bulbs in to change colors with those? I know the factory gauge overlay for a Pontiac has a red film on it preventing color changing without going to a Camaro cluster.
