There are plenty of 200mph fbodies on this site

You would have to make 418 RWHP after all considerable drivertrain, tyre, and aero losses.

Then you have to completely redo your suspension and braking system.

So not worth trying for 180 in a Camaro you don't want to dump tons of money into.

Naw don't do that. I was just saying that as a reality check. Would be cool to have the modded cluster. Just I wouldn't try for any high speed runs just for kicks. You might get disappointed after about 160 MPH you start to need alot of HP and tons of space to keep going!

I think that point there of yours is exactly why we should have speedos up to 175 or 200. sure i cant do 200 in mine, but i can go damn past 155. I just want a speedo where i can see what speed im at no matter how fast im going. i want to look down and see im doing 175, i dont want to look down and see that im past 155...that doesnt really tell me anything.

alright, back to the original topic.

for $150 i might pick one of those up, especially if they can set them up in 20 mph increments all the way up to 200 instead of 10mph increments with a few 20mph increments mixed in cause they ran out of room

The overlays themselves are $150.
Don't forget about the "calibration labor."
Even though their site states it takes 30 minutes to do the conversion they charge $160+ in labor, plus shipping.

Does anyone know what they do for backlighting/illumination? They still dont offer anything other than white and black even though they advertise blue? Wow...thats cool. They promised us red like 3 years ago. And yellow i think. Even for a firebird it says it will light up like the factory camaro so what exactly does that mean?

It means you won't have the red illumination like the stock 'Birds have.
The glow doesn't match the stock Camaro illumination either, it's a tad greener.

^^well Camaro have blue film on the back of the gauges, and it lights up a lame yellow colo, unless you get white leds, then it will light up a light blue....I have red leds installed in my Camaro stock cluster and it lights up red, it all depends on what bulbs you are using behind the gauges

When I was rearended in my Z I was given a rental "Kia Optima" that I beat the crap out of but even that speedo said 180 or sumthin stupid like that and I maxed out that piece o crap @95mph lol. I like the 200mph overlays so when sum1 asks if my car is fast they will know by looking insted of having to take them on a highway ride scaring them and gettin pulled over.

you sure that Kia speedometer didn't say 180kph instead of 180mph?

even then it sounds a bit optimistic for a Kia.....

hey dont start bagging kias!!!! LOL i have a 2006 Kia Spectra sx-i bought it as a daily driver- and i freeking love that thing!!! Its hella fast as far as imports go.Its faster than the civic si, i raced my brothers 2007. It has a 2.0 litre dual overhead cam five speed- ive had it at 130mph i swear to god! And at 38mpg, im totally satisfied with the $9800 i paid for it almost brand new! And overall its a real tight finish and it doesnt make a peep at 90mph i never expected it from a kia. I didnt even mean to buy a car that day i went to wal mart for tin foil and bought a new car!! What can i say, im an impulse buyer.lol i guess tot he extreme. But i drive 150 miles per day for work and school and i was looking for a daily driver so.....thats how that happened. But i honestly love it,

oh yea....guages. So does anyone know what type/color bulbs they use? Do they install a green film? Or is it the bulb thats colored? Cause i thought from the factory the camaro guages didnt have film. Hasnt someone who owns them chimed in yet? Im gonna back track through the thread and pm somes beezies lol

The Camaro Factory Gauges Have Blue Film Behind Them, So It Depends On What Color Led You Use Behind Them

They don't provide bulbs when you purchase the overlay you are to use your old ones. I Believe there is a blue film on the gauges because when i got mine back the color with the stock bulbs were green. Talked with GMS and they recommeded LED's so i purchased a set from led gauges and then my cluster when from green to blue. Although i like my cluster i don't enjoy the different color, when i purchased it i was under the impression i was going to retain all the factory coloring but that wasent the case. I'll post pics so you can see what im talking about.

Factory look during the day

Greenish color with 194 bulbs

It doesnt look that bad in the pictures but in person it was different

Color after installing "White" LED's

Once i get the car back on the road i will attempt to regain the factory look lighting.

And to whom ever asked you can get it for a LT1 if you have a 97. They have no plans to make the overlay for the 93-96 models.
