Default 97+ tail light conversion has been a nightmare.

i have a 95 z28 and i attempted to put in the newer style of tail lights using this conversion tutorial. i tried cutting the light blue wire off of the brake switch and wiring it how they said, but it just continued to use my brake lights as turn signals. i tried using the light blue/black wire and it at least illumated the the turn signal, but it was constantly on when the blinker was on and the brake light was still acting as a turn signal. has anybody here done this conversion that can tell me the right way to do this? this is my daily driver, so i kind of need it done by today.

There's one big problem with those instructions - if you cut the light blue wire close to the brake light switch you will lose the function of the third brake light. What you really want to do is cut (or unplug) the light blue wire at the turn signal switch connector near the base of the steering column. Basically, you just want to bypass where the brake light power goes through the turn signal switch.

well the right turn signal works now, and on the left side, both the turn signal and the brake light are flashing. they are flashing too fast and the left front signal cut out.
