The customer already had three gauges on a pod, and Camaros aren't blessed with the T/A style dash center vents, so this was the next logical place. All it is is a sheet of aluminum bent on both sides and it clips onto the vent tabs. Took some time to get it shaped and cleaned up ('cos I didn't have a sheet metal break at my disposal so it's all hammering and sanding, but I think it was worth it. I was also lucky that the it wasn't a larger dia. gauge housing. A larger dia. housing wouldn't have let us do this 'cos it wouldn't leave enough room above and below the vent to make the pod one single piece and I didn't want to modify the vent housing just in case he wanted to return it to stock. So take note when ordering your gages and use a smaller gage that's not as important as the others you'll have at eye level. Here's a couple more I've played around with ...

Mounted mine in the vents, had to shave a little off the sides and its a snug fit, but they fit in there. Cut a flat piece of ABS to fit the opening, 2 holes for the gauges and glued a strip across the top and bottom of the opening for this panel to rest against. Put an aluminum bar across the back of the vent opening with holes for the gauge screws to fit through, tightened down a couple nuts on the screws and all secure.

Thanks for the compliments.

Now I just need to buy two more gauges to throw in it.
I already have two molded into the center console.

Anyone ever tried to just mount a Mustang vent "cage":

Into our vents? I always like the way it looked. Fit two gauges and kept two (sort of working) vents...

I was wondering about the Mustang "Guage Cage" as well. I live in Alabama now, so I cant be plugging up all my a/c vents. The gauge cage would be ideal for my application. What I would really like to do is mount two aeroforce interceptor gauges in a gauge cage. I might actually purchase a mustang gauge cage and try to fit it into position. I am sure that only minor things need to be done to it to make it fit into our vents without destroying the dash.

This is for a Mustang. I really wish someone would make something like this for our cars. It's the whole instrument bezel with the gauge pods molded in. It's made by Autometer.

I've already started my own creation.
It's hard with our cluster and steering wheel though.
