He built one like that a while back. I'll post a pic when I find it.

Well, it's supposed to be plain. That's the whole point. You have to cut your own shape for the air intakes. This just gives you more options.

Why do people keep thinking this is a finished product? Your car would overheat without some type of air flow.

Moving along, how durable are these FMI when it comes to rocks and such? It seems most folks run a bare intercooler without any screen to protect it. Are they built tougher than your average A/C condensor or radiator?

As you can see in my pic, I have the bottom about even with the lower damn lip. You can just see my plate. If it actually went down that far I think you would have to modify your radiator cooling.

I wouldn't mind seeing it with some grill openings like on these Solstices.

I like it a lot! Then again, I would take it, cut out the bump in the top center, put a KITT light bar in there and call it a day !

Oh, my friend Charlie did the same thing but left in the foglights:

I kind of like it better without the foglights but only if it were to be used as a modern KITT... No, I'm not f@wking joking, I always wanted to make a 4th Gen LS1 KITT tribute car

I believe there are some.

As far as the blank cover, all you need to do is find a nice generic design you like and copy it. You can do it easily just by cutting the hole shape and then covering it with a grill from behind. Similar to the green car I posted above. If you don't like it, just fiberglass the piece you cut out, back in and start over.

What are some cars that have a similar shaped front end? I need some nice material to do some photoshops.

Also, what components do we want up front? I figure two round foglights, a single or dual grill for the air intake and maybe 2 intakes for brake cooling? Anything else we need?

Christian, do you have any reject front ends that came out of the mold wrong or something at a discount price? As long as it basically fits the car well, I'll buy one just so I can experiment with it.

That company went out of business. You'd have to get one of the above bumpers and mod it to that shape

Here's my main concern with the blank front bumper cover, it curves in along the bottom which looses it's agressivness.

Have you considered doing this?

Something like this:

I don't have a good side profile shot, but hopefully you get what I'm saying. The way the factory cover starts to tuck in so high (so air can get to the radiator) just looks horrible when you look at it from the side.

Damn jason, i did not even have those old pics witht the molded Firebird. As far as making a lip that is lower i tried doing that a while back when my car was lowered and i basically destroyed it over speed bumps and my drive way. I eventually decided to not make such a lower lip for that reason. The bumper was designed to sit just an inch lower than stock so it would still flow with the rest of the car. As far as your photoshop, it looks like it is perfect in height. That blank bumper was actually made custom for a customer and i am waiting for him to send me pics with it on. So hopefully i can post some up soon. Thanks

I've got about 70 of your older pics. They're at least 4 years old. PM your email and I can send them to you if you want. I got the nitrous shooting from the nostrils, with the fog lights, with the mesh grill, the unpainted rear spoiler, at the drag strip, etc...

I see what you mean about hitting stuff with the lip. I'm going to be installing an air ride suspension so I can lift the car for steep driveways and such so I'm only mildly concerned I might forget to lift the car and smash it. I'll mess with that stuff on my own. I may just build a add-on lip so it can be torn off and not damage the main front end. I could flush mount it so the seam is almost invisable. Probably similar to the Wings West front lip, just a bit lower and without the air holes.

Some Info.

Sprewell "Bird of Prey" Trans Am concept (2000) features two screaming chickens on the sides of the Bird of Prey pontiac firebird concept. Only two Firebird project vehicles were built, a convertible and a Trans Am t-top version, by Sprewell Racing (of the famed basketball player Latrell Sprewell).

Sprewell started with a Firebird WS6 convertible, chopped the windshield six inches, added a new front and rear fascia, side skirts and a full-width deck spoiler designed by Jame Stormes.

I think this is pretty close to the look I want:

Once I get my air springs in I can drop it down like this:

Notice the similar rims, color, etc...? That's the aggressive looking front profile I want. I'm also considering extending the side skirts down an inch or two to match the underside of the car and give it a lower look. I'm unsure about the raising the wheel arches. I may or may not.

Once I tub all the wheel wells I want to get real low.

About the only practical way to do this is with an adjustable ride height. Other wise the front nose would get smashed and scraped all the time. I'm just having a hard time imaging the overall look with either of your fronts on it.

Is the E-1 right at one inch lower in the front? For some reason it looks lower than that.

Notice how there is a gap up front for the air to get to the radiator when the car is lowered way down.

That gap makes the car look like it's not all the way down.

To the original poster, I like the front bumper, and I'm going to need one in the near future thanks to a large chunk of concrete roadway that I ran over a while ago. I figure I'll get a new front bumper at the same time as a new hood and have them painted at the same time to match.

I wouldn't mind losing the fog lights, as I'd mount them in the side pods like the formula's but I'd like to keep the front license plate bird.
